Songs of Our Lives

On this episode of Songs of Our Lives, it’s Tom Carter!! I’ve been listening to Tom’s music for at least three decades at this point, and I still get super excited when he’s got something new cooking. His recent project, Chrome Chasm (with Mlie Marie and Will Adams) is one of those! We talk about their new album, “Interpreter,” before diving into The Velvet Underground, Love, Yo La Tengo, 13th Floor Elevators, MC5, Julie Tippetts, Patty Waters, The Beatles, The Dead + more!

On this episode of Songs of Our Lives, it’s Kee Avil! I really love the novel approach she took to writing, recording, and releasing her new album, “Vapor,” and was excited to talk to her about it and learn about its pros and cons. We get through all of that before diving into This Heat, PJ Harvey, Juana Molina, Mac Miller, Dolly Parton, Fugazi, and more!
Note: We had some technical difficulties and lost the conversation about lyrics, but Kee’s pick was “Death to Everyone” by Bonnie ‘Prince’ Billy, which is an objectively excellent pick!
