  • Everything’s changing! The future of DOWNHILL according to Bernard Kerr
Rob and Eliot are joined by one of the most enduring names in downhill mountain biking today — Bernard Kerr. With over a decade of elite competition behind him, Bernard is still pushing the limits of downhill, racing against a new wave of younger, hungrier riders — and as you'll hear, he’s not holding anything back. The guys met up for this chat before Bernard's brutal crash while he was prepping for the first World Cup of the year, and that news hit even harder than usual considering how pumped Bernard was for this season. We know he'll be back. This conversation goes deep. Bernard opens up about the toll that crashing has taken on his body and mindset, and what it really feels like to pick yourself up again when you’re no longer the youngest guy on the start list. He reflects on how age has changed his approach to risk, racing, and recovery — and why, even now, he’s still finding ways to stay fast, focused, and fired up. The episode also tackles Red Bull Hardline, a race Bernard has become synonymous with. He shares his honest thoughts on how the event has evolved and the growing unease among riders over how information was shared — or not shared! — when it came to new lines in Tasmania this year. All we've got to say is... bring on Wales. Subscribe, leave a comment, and let us know what you think about what Bernard had to say — and we'll be back very soon.

  • Tom Pidcock opens up on GIRO results, Grand Tour pressure and his MTB future
Just one day after crossing the finish line in Rome to complete the 2025 Giro d’Italia, Tom Pidcock sat down with us in Salzburg for an honest, revealing conversation about the pressures, decisions, and ambitions that shape life at the very top of the sport. From the chaos of a three-week Grand Tour to the calm of a podcast studio, this episode captures a rare moment of reflection from one of the most versatile and compelling riders in cycling today. We delve into Tom’s decision to leave Ineos Grenadiers and join Q36.5 - a move that made headlines across the road cycling world. The conversation also dives deep into his Olympic journey, with Tom reflecting on the incredible achievement of winning back-to-back gold medals in mountain biking and what it would take to return for a third shot at LA 2028. We also unpack THAT move at the 2024 Paris Games that secured him gold against French favourite, Victor Kortetsky. But this isn’t just about wins and podiums. We also explore Tom's love for MTB and the sacrifices that must be made to be competitive in every discipline. We dive into what it actually takes to ride general classification in a Grand Tour, the mental battle of staying focused for 21 days straight, the sacrifices required to chase time on the world’s biggest stages, and the emotional highs and lows that come with trying to hold it all together under immense pressure. Whether you're a fan of road racing, mountain biking, or simply fascinated by the psychology of elite athletes, this episode offers a rare look into the mindset of a rider who’s redefining what it means to be a modern cyclist. Tom Pidcock’s story is still unfolding, and this chapter is one you won’t want to miss.

  • How Olly Wilkins turned mountain biking from a passion into a profession
Join Rob and Eliot as they sit down with Olly Wilkins, a true legend of the global Mountain Bike scene and all-round master of two wheels.   From digging his first jumps in the Surrey Hills to sculpting 65-foot canyon gaps for Brendan Fairclough at Red Bull Rampage, Olly takes us through the ages and unpacks what keeps him smiling on (and off) two wheels.   There’s a nostalgic look at the early 2000s dirt jump scene, we’ll uncover why the Surrey hills forged a generation of world-class riders, such as Bernard Kerr, Matt Jones, Sam Reynolds, and what really happens during those exhausting, emotional build-weeks in the Utah desert.    The conversation also dives into urban downhill course design, the birth of The Ride Companion podcast during lockdown, and the importance of keeping biking fun - whether you’re chasing podiums or perfect whips. Want to know all about the ins and outs of mountain biking? This chat has everything.   Next time on Just Ride? A superstar in the cycling scene joins Rob and Eliot in Salzburg. You’ll have to stay tuned to find out who (hint: he’s very busy in Italy right now).   In the meantime, email [email protected] to get in touch with Rob, Eliot and the team.   #redbull  #JustRide #cycling

  • Inside road cycling with Grand Tour winner Jai Hindley
In October 2020, Jai Hindley finished second in the Giro d’Italia. The then-24-year-old Australian had arrived. Two years later, after a near-flawless three weeks around Italy, he went one better. Giro d’Italia winner. Grand Tour champion. Legend cycling status secured.   Since then the Perth-born racer has worn the yellow jersey at the Tour de France, finished in the top 10, and is currently supporting Red Bull-BORA-hansgrohe teammate Primoz Roglic at the 2025 Giro d’Italia.   He has a road cycling palmares that most young riders can only dream of - and this week on Just Ride, he joined Rob and Eliot from his training base in Switzerland to tell them all about it.   What’s it like to line up next to Tadej Pogacar? How do you deal with leadership tensions within a team? Can he win another Grand Tour? How cool is it for Red Bull to own your team?! Just how much do elite road cyclists eat now? There’s that and so much more.   Next time on Just Ride? We’ll be on more familiar ground for Rob and Eliot with a return of a previous Just Ride guest. You’ll have to stay tuned to find out who (hint: he goes very quickly downhill).   In the meantime, email [email protected] to get in touch with Rob, Eliot and the team.
