Rachael completed her undergraduate studies in Psychology at Franciscan University of Steubenville and obtained her Masters in Social Work (Clinical Specialization) from the University of Pittsburgh. She is a Licensed Social Worker and has received additional advanced training in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Psychodynamic therapy, Gottman Relational Therapy, and the neurobiology of attachment and trauma. Guest: Fr. Thomas Loya
Fr. Thomas J Loya, is currently the pastor of Annunciation of the Mother of God Byzantine Catholic Parish in Homer Glen, IL. He is also the host of two radio programs; “Light of the East” which can be heard in more than 60 cities across the United States on several Catholic radio networks including EWTN Radio as well as “Beyond the Veil,” heard on Ave Maria Radio.
Before entering the seminary Fr. Loya earned a degree from the Cleveland Institute of Art and pursued a career in commercial art and design. He later completed his studies for the priesthood in both Pennsylvania and Rome where he attended the North American College earning an STB from the Angelicum University. During his time in Rome, Fr. Loya was first heard St. Pope John Paul II’s monumental teaching on the human person when he attended his weekly audiences about The Theology of the Body.
Fr. Loya was ordained in 1982 and later added to his Bachelor of Fine Arts by earning a Masters in Counseling and Human Services in 1993. Fr. Loya has served the Church in youth and young adult ministry as well as an artist and design consultant. He has directed many retreats and has been a guest speaker at several conventions including World Youth Day 2002. Using his background in art, counseling, and Eastern Catholic spirituality, Fr. Elizabeth Busby is a passionate daughter of God the Father, wife to a handsome bearded engineer, and mom to six sweet children who are named for some of their favorite saints! She has an undergraduate degree in Psychology from Texas A&M University (whoop!), and she earned a master’s degree in Theological Studies from Ave Maria University, where she wrote her thesis on how St. John Paul II’s Theology of the Body can aid in the discernment of a vocation to marriage.
Additionally, she holds a master’s degree in Counseling with a focus on marriage and family therapy from SMU, and she works as a Marriage and Family Therapist. She has a passion for helping people fall in love with Jesus and helping people discern and live God’s joyful plan for holy marriages and family life. Elizabeth is Content Specialist for the Theology of the Body Institute, which is truly a dream come true, and she hosts the Discerning Marriage podcast and runs the popular Discerning Marriage Instagram account. In July 2025, she was invited to and participated in the Vatican Jubilee of Digital Missionaries and Catholic Influencers.

Jacob Popcak, M.A., L.P.C. is a counseling associate of the Pastoral Solutions Institute. Jacob holds a Masters in Arts for Counseling from Franciscan University of Steubenville. He is a Licensed Professional Counselor, and has received advanced training in marriage therapy from the Gottman Institute, training in counseling for depression and anxiety disorders (Beck Institute, CBT for Depression and Anxiety), and holds certifications in both Christian Counseling (Franciscan University of Steubenville) and treating online addictions (Zur Institute). Prior to joining PSI, Jacob served as a therapist in a variety of outpatient counseling settings where he practiced intensive therapy with individuals, couples, children, trauma patients, and families suffering a variety of emotional and relational problems. He has spoken across the country about Pope Saint John Paul II’s Theology of the Body and has trained at the Theology of the Body Institute (TOB 1-3). He is the former co-host of the Son Rise Morning Show on EWTN, where, in addition to hosting and interviewing newsmakers both in the Church and around the world, he presented practical meditations on the gospels. He is a published author has contributed writings on the intersections of faith, psychology, and art/beauty to multiple publications, including Our Sunday Visitor Press.
