#40: Jakob Herrmann - Rekord Fokus

    23/04/2026 | 1 h 50 min

#39: Bernie Hertz - Break the chain

    09/04/2026 | 1 h 52 min

#38: Tim Alongi - back fly more

    26/03/2026 | 1 h 39 min
    Tim's brand: https://heretofly.com/

What does it really mean to grow up inside paragliding and never lose the feeling of play?

In this episode of the Find Your Path Podcast, I sit down with Tim Alongi, FAI World Air Games Acro Champion, multiple-time French Champion and Red Bull X-Alps athlete.
Tim is one of the rare pilots who has successfully moved across very different worlds of flying, always on the highest level of our sport: from acro competition to hike & fly racing and alpine flying.

From the very beginning of this conversation, one thing becomes clear:
For Tim, flying is not something he learned but something he lives.

    We talk about:
    • what it feels like to grow up flying from a very young age
    • why playfulness is still at the core of his flying today
    • the importance of continuity and time in the air when life gets busy
    • how technique, equipment and confidence actually work together
    • why many pilots struggle to progress despite flying regularly
    • and how different disciplines like freestyle, climbing and other sports shape his approach to flying

This conversation is about feeling, instinct and the relationship with the wing.
A look into the mindset of a pilot who moves naturally between different styles of flying and still approaches the sky with curiosity.

If you want to understand what it means to stay connected to the joy of flying while developing your skills, this episode will give you a different perspective.

    Cheers,
    Paul

#37: Paul Guschlbauer - New gear for next level?

    12/03/2026 | 25 min
Is a new wing the fastest way to become a better pilot?
After more than 20 years in paragliding, I’ve long notice a pattern that I want to talk about here.
    Many pilots want to progress.
They buy new equipment, chase performance and keep looking around on market offers for their personal next step.

But does that actually make us better pilots?

In this solo episode of the Find Your Path Podcast, I share a story from a recent Wanderbird Academy gathering in Hong Kong.
A pilot told me she bought a new two-liner wing because she wanted to progress, but at the same time she felt more scared flying it.
That moment triggered an important conversation:

What does real progression in paragliding actually mean?

In this episode we explore the three pillars that shape every pilot’s development:
    • Pilot: your skills, awareness and decision making
    • Nature: understanding terrain, conditions and timing
    • Equipment: the wing and tools you fly with

Most pilots focus on the easiest pillar: equipment.
But real progress never comes from gear alone.

It comes from understanding where you stand as a pilot, how you interact with the environment, and how you consciously develop your abilities over time.

This episode is a reflection on progress, awareness and the deeper structure of learning in paragliding.

It also touches on the philosophy behind the Wanderbird Academy, where pilots explore their development path together through reflection, exchange and experience in the mountains.

If you want to fly not only further, but longer and with deeper understanding, this episode is for you.

    Cheers,
    Paul

#36: Joanna di Grigoli - Beyond Records

    26/02/2026 | 1 h 54 min
Joanna has been flying for 25 years.
That’s not just experience, that’s a lifetime in the sport.
Or in Wanderbird words: a path following the paragliding passion.

In this episode of the Find Your Path Podcast, we talk about what it means to stay in paragliding for decades and about how motivation evolves, about competition, records and what really drives you after so many hours in the air.

Joanna shares her perspective as a woman in a sport where participation is still heavily male dominated.
    Why do fewer women fly?
Has that changed over the years?
And do women approach flying differently?

We also speak about travel, Venezuela, Kenya, Europe, and whether pilots actually need to travel to grow.
Is chasing records a natural consequence of long term passion? Or is it something else entirely?

As someone who has seen the sport from many angles, as a competitor, record pilot and Red Bull X Alps reporter, Joanna brings a calm and thoughtful perspective on safety, longevity and balance.

How do you stay safe for 25 years?
What really matters in the long run?
And what is a good life?

A deep episode that has already triggered discourse in my team. Development is a matter of exploration and I think this episode adds to that.

Thank you Joanna for your time.

This is for anyone who wants to fly for a long time and not just far.
