- In today’s episode, we reflect on the three groups Allah describes in Sūrah al-Wāqiʿah and what it truly means to be among those who are raised and brought near to Him.
We explore the complete bliss of Paradise, where both the body and heart are finally at peace, and contrast it with the fate of those whose comfort in this world caused them to become distracted from Allah and the Hereafter.
The danger is not wealth, ease, or enjoying the blessings Allah has given us. The danger is allowing those blessings to capture our hearts, make us feel self-sufficient, and cause us to forget why we are here.
And the episode ends with one simple challenge: when an opportunity for good appears, do not wait. Be among the foremost. - In today’s episode, we explore what it really means to fear Allah, and why that fear is not meant to leave us anxious, hopeless, or distant from Him.
We look at the difference between healthy fear and fear that becomes overwhelming, how remembering that we will one day stand before Allah can interrupt harmful choices, and why the scholars describe fear as something meant to move us toward obedience, not become an end in itself. - In today’s episode, we reflect on how Surah al-Rahman teaches us to recognize the many forms of Allah’s mercy in our lives.
The Qur’an itself is one of the greatest expressions of that mercy, guiding us toward what brings goodness in this life and the next. We also explore why justice is part of Allah’s mercy, how gratitude should shape the way we treat others, and why preparing for the Hereafter does not mean rejecting the blessings of this world.
The surah reminds us that everything we enjoy will eventually pass, but that does not mean we should stop enjoying what Allah has made permissible. Instead, we learn to hold blessings in our hands without allowing them to take over our hearts. - In today’s episode, we reflect on the relationship between moral responsibility, power, and Qadar.
What does it mean when someone does not personally commit an injustice, but supports it, defends it, or becomes comfortable with it? The story of Thamud teaches us that our responsibility can extend beyond what we physically do to what we approve of and stand behind.
We then turn to one of the most important truths the Qur’an teaches us: real power belongs only to Allah. Human power is temporary and limited, while Allah is Al-Muqtadir, the One whose power is absolute and whose will cannot be overcome.
From there, we explore Qadar and how knowing Allah changes the way we understand divine decree. Qadar does not mean passivity, and it does not erase our choices. We are responsible for our intentions, decisions, effort, and response, while the outcome remains with Allah. - In today’s episode, we reflect on the opening of Sūrah al-Qamar and the urgency behind Allah’s words, “The Hour has drawn near.”
We explore the splitting of the moon as a sign of the Prophet ﷺ, why people can still reject the truth even when the evidence is in front of them, and how following desire can cloud the heart’s ability to recognize guidance.
We then turn to one of the surah’s most repeated messages: Allah has made the Qur’an easy for remembrance, reflection, and guidance. The question is whether we will actually turn toward it.
Finally, we look at why Allah repeatedly tells us the stories of earlier nations, not simply to teach us history, but to wake us up, help us recognize recurring human patterns, and ask what needs to change in our own lives before it is too late.
