Muhammad Siddiq al-Minshawi also spelled Mohammad Siddiq Al Minshawi or Sheikh Mohamed Siddiq El-Minshawi was a highly revered and influential Quran reciter from Egypt.
Born in 1920 in Minshah Sohag Governorate Egypt he came from a family deeply rooted in Quranic recitation; his father Sheikh Siddiq Al-Minshawi and his brother Sheikh Mahmoud Al-Minshawi were also renowned reciters. He is celebrated for his unique melancholic and spiritually profound voice which deeply moves listeners.
He primarily recited in the Hafs ‘an Asim narration and was a master of the Mujawwad style of recitation. Digital Quranic archives feature an extensive collection of his recitations including complete recitations of the Holy Quran and numerous individual surahs which continue to be widely listened to and studied globally.
Sheikh Al-Minshawi served as a reciter in many mosques across Egypt and internationally. He passed away in 1969 leaving behind a timeless legacy that continues to influence generations of Quran reciters.
