  • 46: Mr. [Redacted] + Gnomocop
Did we expect to watch the entire trailer for the Anthony Michael Hall-starring fantasy adventure flop A Gnome Named Gnorm when we set out to record this episode? No, but when you’re covering the new one from Gnomocop, you legally have to do the research. The episode also features new records from Mr. [Redacted], Mar De Árboles, Sick Thoughts, Ways of Hiding, and Harry Sings. • Bonus Pod!: Overlooked Punk Favorites of 2025
This entire year except for those two weeks off, punk this week hosts Nina Corcoran and Evan Minsker have podcasted about six new punk records each week. Some of those weeks, we walked away with that sinking feeling: Shit, we missed one. Sometimes the best emo record of the year slips by because there were too many good options that week. Maybe it took months for a demo to find its way to YouTube from basement show cassette treasure. Therefore, we have called to order a punk this week special titled “overlooked punk favorites of 2025 so far.” It’s the same format—we each pick three—but this time focused on six year-end contender records we didn’t cover so far this year. This one’s for the paid subscribers. By subscribing to see/saw, you’ve been kind enough to support this podcast that’s honestly just an excuse for us to hang out during snack time and listen to loud music. Throw us a coin or barter your way across the paywall. Paid subscribers also get the weekly column Punk This Week and the see/saw radio archive. More importantly, they get the gratitude of two punk journalists from the Midwest. Hosted on Acast. See acast.com/privacy for more information.

This week, a perfect slice of homemade triple berry pie turns around an arduous moving day, we pay tribute to Ichiro Suzuki’s Baseball Hall of Fame induction and perfect rapport with his dog, and the term “Cocteau Twins cash” is officially coined. We brought the latest from Golomb, Guyscrapers, G.I. Bill, Lash, Light Beams, and Los Retumbes. Thanks to Baby Tyler Band for use of our theme song “Needs” off their self-titled album.
